Random things I saw in Sydney

The very Aussie lifeguard at Manly beach; a suicide prevention sign at Gap Park (which has cliffs overlooking the Tasman Sea and is a notorious suicide spot); a bizarre fountain shaped like a boar which is a gift from the Italians; a little girl running in the park near Mrs Macquarie's Chair overlooking Sydney harbor.

I think everything I post about Sydney will be a little random. I saw more than I could process, which isn't unusual, but all of it was colored by the history I'd read, and I wanted to understand it -- everything -- Sydney, Australia, all the upside down parts of the world -- in a way that wasn't going to happen in three days.

Sometimes, it's good to just take those walking shoes out of storage and re-explore places that you haven't been to in a while. And these pictures of Sydney remind me that I should do that sometime soon!
