We've seen a lot of boobies already, but only in flight, or plunge diving straight down into the water to catch fish, but there were a few hanging out on the rocks on Gardner, so I finally got to see those amazing feet up close.
I do catch myself thinking of everything in evolutionary terms here in the Galapagos, but I'm not sure what advantage those bright blue feet gave the booby ancestors.
Apart from just being really cool to look at, of course.
