Since my time is again very limited -- today was my only full day in Edinburgh -- I focused on the things I didn't see, or only saw from the top of a bus, the last time I was here.
The Royal Mile, which extends from the Castle at one end, and Holyroodhouse Palace at the other, was the obvious choice. There are so many things to see on the way, and so many little passageways opening off of it, with gardens and alleys and churchyards, that walking it took up the entire day, and I spent very little time at the landmarks at either end.
I won't get to most of what I saw today until I'm home. I'm just going to post a few highlights every day and leave most of the pictures until I have time to do them justice.
