Heading for the Highlands
I'm on a four day tour of the Highlands out of Edinburgh: one day crossing the Highlands heading west, two days on the Isle of Skye, and one day heading back.
Our first stop was this little village on the edge of the Highlands, Dunkeld. It's just your typical Scottish village, with a thirteenth century cathedral sitting in the fields surrounded by grazing sheep, a river flowing under a stone bridge, and a charming high street. We bought sandwiches for a picnic lunch. I was expecting ham and cheese and egg salad, but the offerings included ingredients like chorizo, and sliced smoked duck breast with a chili garlic lime marmalade.
