More Swedish design

This sink isn't necessarily Swedish design -- I've seen similar styles in decor magazines.

But yes, that's a big piece of white stone sitting over the drain. You have to wonder who thought this would be a good idea. The water flows very prettily over the white stone and drains away underneath, unless you're brushing your teeth and the particles of food and globs of toothpaste just sit there until you clean them away.

In general I really like the design of this hotel. It was originally military barracks, and they've converted it nicely to simple Scandinavian style. The grounds are beautiful, and I love the shower, and the little desk by a window.

But the sink is just silly.
