Astronomy Tuesday
There was a transit of Mercury yesterday -- Mercury, the Little Planet That Could, chugging across the great disk of the sun. Of course, it was just going about its usual business, tracing its orbit according to laws it couldn't disobey if it wanted to, but from where we sit, two planets over, it gave us a lovely view.
This moody photo is from the transit in 2006.
