I'd like to thank the Academy

The Swedish Academy, that is. This is the Blue Hall in Stockholm's City Hall, and it is where the Nobel Prize dinner is given on December 10th of every year. And this podium is where the speeches are given, in case you want to start practicing now.

They have a sample of the dinner service in a glass case off to one side. It's unusual, very Scandinavian: Arne Jacobsen-style flatware, wine glasses with bulbous amber-colored stems. They now offer to sell copies of the dinnerware to the prize winners because so many of them were stealing the spoons as souvenirs.
