Summer in the city
A brief acknowledgement of the solstice, and a welcome back to the sun, which will be residing in the Northern Hemisphere for the next six months.
The farm stands are back, along with the Saturday pickle man on 43rd Street, and despite the long, evil winter, which had to have been even more discouraging to plants than it was to the rest of us, there are already good tomatoes and even some early peaches in the markets.
