Sunday bird blogging
Something about living at the bottom of the world inspires otherwise ordinary birds in Australia to climb trees. In Melbourne, it was ducks; here in Kuranda, it was a heron.
It's been gray and drizzly all week here, so no local birding expeditions to report. And next weekend I will be in Iceland, where the forecast is currently predicting rain every day. So I may see some birds there, but they won't be at their most attractive or photogenic.
I'm just hoping the clouds clear up at night at least once to allow the Northern lights to peek through.
