Happy New Year to everyone!
We made excellent time across the Scotia Sea, and so will be arriving at South Georgia this afternoon instead of tomorrow. The first iceberg appeared while I was eating breakfast; by the time I finished and went up to the observation deck, there were half a dozen more. Welcome to the Antarctic!
