The sphinx was an offering from the people of the island of Naxos; it's made of Naxian marble and dates from the 6th century BC. The cliffs behind the Sanctuary of Apollo. A niche in the marketplace. Polygonal stones, called Lesbian masonry after the island of Lesbos, by the Temple of Apollo. They remind me of some of the Incan stone walls.
