Today we saw a movie about Sir Edmund Hillary, the shy beekeeper who climbed Everest, and then had a wonderful free afternoon. I set out on a couple of the local hikes but didn't go that far; it was windy and I just kept taking more pictures of the mountains, which I finally realized I could do almost as well from my balcony.

Mount Cook

It was a long drive from Christchurch, but we're now settled in at Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. This was the view from my balcony after dinner.
