Astronomy Tuesday
That enormous dark spot on the familiar face of our planet (hello, Australia!) is the shadow of the moon. This image was taken from the Deep Space Climate Observatory during the total eclipse on March 9.
For those like me who have always wanted to see a solar eclipse, in August of next year a total eclipse will be visible across much of the United States. Not New York, sadly, but I will definitely be going somewhere (Oregon or Wyoming most likely) where it is.
