This bird was trilling like an alarm clock from a tree on the far side of the lawn, so I had to get a look. It stayed back in the foliage so I couldn't get a clear picture, but you can tell that it (a crested barbet, according to my field guide) combines more colors and patterns in one creature than any self-respecting North American bird would be seen dead in. (Note especially the polka-dot tail.)
I love it.
