Sunday bird blogging
A great tit, scavenging for carrots on a picnic table at Skansen.
I may have finally met a bird I don't love. At first I was excited to see so many blue tits and great tits in Stockholm; we don't have them at home, and I'd never seen one.
But they are bigger scavengers than house sparrows, and much more aggressive. My last night in Stockholm I had a beer in the hotel garden, and the birds were landing right on my beer bottle and trying to dive bomb my bowl of nuts. When I waved them away, they retreated to the backs of the other chairs at my table, six or eight of them sitting quietly a few feet away, watching me, and making me feel uncomfortably like Tippi Hedren.
Something nudged my leg, and I looked down to see that one bird had landed on my calf and was crawling up my jeans. Creepy, in more ways than one. I gulped down the rest of my beer and left.
Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you have done a amazing job with this. In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox. Exceptional Blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good read for me, Must admit that you are one of the best bloggers I have read. Thanks for posting this informative article.
